Breastfeeding Outlook is a continuing education provider with a staff dedicated to breastfeeding promotion. We offer a variety of evidence-based programs, publications and resources, as well as the consulting and speaking services of Marie Biancuzzo, RN, MS, IBCLC.
Marie is a leading expert on lactation and breastfeeding. She has written more than 100 articles, many published in peer-reviewed journals. A founding member of the United States Breastfeeding Committee, she is currently President of Baby-Friendly USA.
Marie has first-hand clinical experience with breastfeeding management. In more than two decades of practice, she has held positions as staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, and nurse administrator at community and university-based hospitals. Throughout most of this time, Marie has practiced per diem as a staff nurse in nearly all sub-specialties of maternal-child health.
Marie is an experienced educator. She has held faculty appointments at the University of Rochester School of Nursing and at Georgetown University School of Nursing. She has been certified by the American Nurses Association as a continuing education specialist, and has has completed special training in testing procedures. In addition, she was chosen to serve on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) panel to develop the RN licensing exam twice. Having taught thousands of novices and experts across the United States, Marie has earned praise for her warmth, enthusiasm and interactive teaching style.

At Breastfeeding Outlook, our mission is to leverage our clinical and teaching experience and expertise to deliver the most up-to-date, cutting-edge, evidence-based information on breastfeeding and lactation available anywhere. We help nurses, lactation specialists, dietitians, doulas, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare professionals or organizations that are committed to breastfeeding mothers. With appeal for novices as well as experts, we provide the critical support they need to pass the IBLCE exam for the first time or the fifth time; we also conveniently package the newest research on breastfeeding and lactation so that professionals can earn continuing education credits or simply broaden their knowledge base and hone their clinical skills. Our clinical resources enhance ease of role implementation so that parent and provider can have a mutually beneficial experience.
We envision a society where breastfeeding is the norm for all families, and where all health care providers actively promote, protect and support breastfeeding at the individual, interpersonal and system levels.
