Lactation Exam Review

A live 2-day seminar to prepare you to recertify by exam

Course Details & Policies

Course Goal

To enable recertifying lactation consultants to pass the IBLCE exam. If you are a first-time exam candidate, and you have already taken a 90-hour comprehensive lactation education program, this course may be suitable for your review purposes. Otherwise, you should consider one of our 90-hour lactation education programs.

Course Description

Prepare for the IBLCE exam with two exciting, information-packed days with Marie Biancuzzo, internationally known speaker, author and clinical expert. This course will enable you to tackle the toughest topics with confidence!

Review pertinent facts and principles related to all 14 categories of the exam blueprint in an interactive and responsive learning environment. Learn effective test-taking strategies, discuss evidence-based practices for breastfeeding management, and brush up on your recognition of clinical conditions. Special emphasis will be given to topics that have given past candidates difficulty.

Who should attend?

First-time candidates and certified lactation consultants who want to pass the IBLCE exam. This course is ideal for licensed health care professionals (e.g., nurses, physicians, dietitians). Others may register, but should be aware that the course is paced for those who have passed a state board exam.

What you'll receive

  • A mock exam during the course, with on-the-spot, individualized analysis of your strengths and weaknesses in each exam category
  • A detailed course syllabus (350+ pages) and interactive presentation
  • Approximately 12 hours of pre-course online study materials that remain accessible in your account for continued study up to and immediately after the exam dates.
  • Money-back guarantee -- you will pass the exam, or your registration is free! (Limitations apply - see policy below for details)

There is approximately 12 hours of homework to complete prior to the course. Upon registration, you will receive an e-mail from us with instructions for completing the homework. Most work is done online on our website.

This course is approved for 25.0 L-CERPs (IBLCE), 19.0 contact hours for nurses (CA BRN), and 12.0 CPEUs at Level II for dietitians (CDR).

Money-Back Guarantee

If you are a state-licensed health care professional (e.g., RN, MD, RD) or recertifying IBCLC and you successfully complete the course (obtaining at least a 60% grade on the mock exam), but fail one of the two IBLCE exams immediately following your review course date, we will refund your course registration fee. Breastfeeding Outlook is not responsible for any travel or hotel costs. Instead of a refund, you may choose a free registration for the next year's Lactation Exam Review in the same city you previously attended (guaranteed space), or in one of our other locations (as space permits). This guarantee is not transferable.

Only written cancellations received prior to the cancellation deadline (see brochure) are eligible for a refund; no refunds can be issued after that date. All refunds are subject to a $100 administrative fee and will be issued within 30 days of the receipt of written cancellation. Substitutions are allowed, but please notify our Registrar at 703-787-9894 as soon as possible. In the unlikely event that a program is canceled, Breastfeeding Outlook will refund the registration fee in full, but is not responsible for any travel, hotel, or other costs you may incur.

On the first day, registration will begin at 7:30 AM. Instruction will begin at 7:45 AM and end at 4:30 PM. One hour will be allotted for lunch on your own, and there will be morning and afternoon breaks. The second day will follow much the same schedule. Learning will begin at 8:00 AM, lunch will be on your own, there will be morning and afternoon breaks, and adjournment will occur at 4:30 PM. Once you've completed all course requirements, you will receive your certificate of achievement. Certificates will not be distributed until 4:30 PM on the last day of the seminar. No exceptions will be made. Please plan your travel accordingly.
